Located in the Chum Kho, Pathiu (Pathiu) Chumphon about 2 km  from Chumphon Airport .  Ao Bo Mao is a liesurely bay with numerous small resorts & restaurants. Abundant with nature and marine life, enjoy fishing or a boat trip to nearby Ko Khai Island. The bay is named after the  Cha-Mao tree , a traditional source of pure fresh water. 

Ao Bo Mao is a long cresent shaped beach, at low tide it reveals a wide flat beach stretching to the headland. Evenings locals comb the beach to collect crabs and shellfish.

The Chumphon Airport is located adjacent to the beach and serves Bangkok with multiple daily flights on Nok Air .  Nearby at Cape Pathiu ( in early 2017)  high speed catramaran will connect to Ko Tao, Ko Phangan and Ko Samui at a new aquatic transit center.

Ao Bo Mao Beach ( Spring Tree Bay)

Ao Bang Son 

Located in the Pathio about 2 km from Ao Bo Mao. Bang Son Bay is south of  Ao  Bo Mao. The  sand beach of Bang Son Bay stretches to Saphli Beach. The beach is long and tempting for swimming on the high tide. The bay offers a tranquil atmosphere with scattered houses on the seaside.

 

Several small resorts include the luxurious beachfront  Sara Boutique Resort.  Nature is still pristine and the viewpoints nearby at Khao Dinsor provide a remarkable view of Bang Son Bay and the islands of the Chumphon Archipelago.

Located in the Chum Kho,  Pathio, (Pathiu)  5 km from Chumphon Airport , Coral Beach or Ao Khai Nao is a half-moon sand beach. It stretches for 300 meters with stunning rocky headlands on both ends.  Sandy beachesand  the crystal clear water is alluring for swimmers. The beach is shaded by the coconut palms and is perfect for travellers who cherish a private secluded beach.

A line of reefs lie off the beach including the rocky outctrops  called Koh Tad Phom, Koh Lok, and Koh Tone. Ko Lok is famous for its giant clams which are protected by a local conservation group.

In 2017 a luxury beach front resort home development, Coral Beach will open  at the bay.

The beach has a wide reputation for its beauty.  It is main local tourist beach in Pathio with numerous resorts, bars and restaurants, unfortunately some are a little tired.  The beach has numerous dive schools.

Located in Saphli, Pathio District from Chumphon City  to the beach is around 16 km. The long beach is covered by powdery white sand. It slightly slopes down to the sea which is perfect for swimming. On the southern side of the beach is a rocky headland.

Likely most beautiful beach in all Thailand, Tung Sang Beach, Pathiu, Chumphon is rarely crowded with  its truly unspoilt long white sandy beaches  and clear blue waters.  An undiscovered gem of Thailand with lush tropical forests and headlands of limestone.
